I was born and raised on the south shore of Long Island, NY. I graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with Bachelor Degrees in both Psychology and History. As someone who has always had the desire to help people, I began my career in the field of social work in 1993. Although I do like to think I was good at my job and that I did help some people, after a few years I was burned out. I became frustrated and disillusioned in my profession. I needed a change!
After ‘trying on’ a few different (ok, very different) careers such as a substitute teacher, life insurance salesperson, and bartender (!) just to name a few, I was still searching. It was at that time that I had the displeasure of being in a car accident that left me with chronic whiplash. I went to the doctor. I went to the chiropractor. Nothing would offer me any relief. Desperate, I scheduled an appointment for a massage at the student clinic of The New York College of Health Professions. I instantly felt relief. And that’s when I knew the direction I wanted to take.
I enrolled in the Massage Therapy AOS Degree program at The NY College of Health Professions in 1998 and graduated in 2000. I have been in business for myself for a number of years, where I have had the privilege to work with chiropractors and naturopathic doctors, as well as in spas and salons. In my down time, I enjoy spending time with my family, baking, reading, going to concerts, exercising and taking road trips. I thoroughly enjoy the work that I do and love being able to assist clients in their healing.
Whether it’s chronic pain management, acute pain from over-exertion or just the need for a therapeutic and relaxing massage, my goal is to create a welcoming and supportive environment to help you on your journey.
